The study proposes to identify and analyze the principal possible strategies actually followed by local public utilities (SLP) in the process of product diversification. The structure of the study is so expressed: as followed by and introduction part outlining the context from which the evolution of the multi-utilities starts, the principal multiservice strategies, that the SPL companies usually adopt in a national context, are taken into consideration, to highlight successively on the basis of the national empirical evidence (and international) the successful strategies for placing their new position in the market. At this point the analysis addresses some particular actual experiences in Le Marche, currently in the early stages, but significant and representative of very different approaches: on one hand the Aspes of Pesaro that in 2002 was acquired by SEABO Bologna, in this way reentering in a territorial unification project that invests the entire Adriatic coast, on the other hand the experience of Gorgovivo (Ancona) with its substantial links with the area, wants to create local productive poles through association processes in the relevant territory. In the case of ASPEA of Osimo, recently acquired by AMGA of Genoa, an alternative example of remote control is proposed not based on the territorial proximity.
