This paper intends to reconstruct briefly the scientific activity carefully performed over the course of about forty years by the scientist and piarist father A. Serpieri. Newly found historical documents enable the reconstruction of the activity by examining the scientific apparatus bought by Serpieri and used in his lectures and experimental research. A mayor part of this instrumentation is currently preserved at the “Physics Laboratory: Urbino Museum of Science and Thecnology” of the University of Urbino.
