In the surviving work of Aeschylus, this article investigates the strophic pattern and the use of the so-called lyric-epirrhematic dialogue, whose ductile structure proves to be always appropriate to the dramaturgy and the scene. In particular, the focus is on the case of the Suppliants, which among all the surviving Aeschylus’ tragedies is the only one that contains the largest number of lyric-epirrhematic dialogues.

Abstract
In the surviving work of Aeschylus, this article investigates the strophic pattern and the use of the so-called lyric-epirrhematic dialogue, whose ductile structure proves to be always appropriate to the dramaturgy and the scene. In particular, the focus is on the case of the Suppliants, which among all the surviving Aeschylus’ tragedies is the only one that contains the largest number of lyric-epirrhematic dialogues.File in questo prodotto:
