Per una nuova edizione di Corinna di Tanagra: studio preliminare.

There are only two monographic eitions of Corinna’s poems: the first one is Denis L. Page 1953, and the second one is Torres 2005. The other editions are anthologies, of whom the Poetae Melici Graeci by D. L. Page (1962) is the most famous; it is, in fact, the main edition of Corinna’s poems. None of the monographic editions, even if they have introductions, has a commentary; none is complete, for different reasons: the first because some papyri were published in 1956, the second doesn’t include the more damaged fragments. This is a preparatory work for the edition of Corinna’s poems and of the testimonia, with an Italian translation and a commentary. It has an introduction that shows the problems about the literary genre, the chronology, the metre, the dialect, the manuscripts and the literary witnesses. The edition of the text is based on an autopsy of the papyri. Thanks to the analysis and the exegesis of the texts, it is possible to state that Corinna’s poems were intended for ritual performances of the πόλεις, and that they were probably performed by girls choruses. In fact Corinna’s poems are mainly narrative (and they concern with local Boeotian legends), but they have introductions where the divinity is invoked, and it is told about the place and the time of the festival. The chronology of the poet may doesn’t go beyond the 4th century.
