Il maltrattamento sugli anziani

The present study represents a focus on the phenomenon of the abuse against older people, also called elder abuse. It has three parts. The first is about forensic analysis of the phenomenon. It moves the steps from a review of the main attempts to define the phenomenon and continues with the analysis of the various types of abuse: physical, psychological, financial and neglect. The focus continues with the analysis of the risk factors related to the abuse and the signs that follow, so you can have an overview of the characteristics of the phenomenon and the elements preceding and succeeding the episodes of mistreatment. The last part is about the US approach to the phenomenon that has focused in particular on the creation of multidisciplinary groups for the study of individual cases. The second part is about legal anaysis of the criminal types while the third concerns practical survey subjected to the volunteer staff of Red Cross of Emilia-Romagna. What is important to show is the level of knowledge and study of elder abuse by the people that can see older people in their houses in order to understand if there are training and competency about it.
