It is certain that historical studies, including the most recent, have not so far been able to dedicate to the house of Migliorati a thorough and comprehensive monograph that deserved, not only in the context of dynastic vicissitudes, but also in the more general history of Italian families. From the nineteenth century until today, there have been few scientific approaches to the five branches of the Migliorati family and also the research of local scholars have led to fragmented and genealogical reconstructions with documentary evidence is not always clear and precise. This study aims to reconstruct fully the complex genealogy of Migliorati family and to frame those prominent families, which had contacts anything but secondary in the life of his maternal relatives of Pope Benedict XV.
