This paper studies a short excerpt from the Commento by Iacomo della Lana (Inferno, vv.115-117). This is to find shades of oitanic epic coming from writings or oral tradition in Italy in the 13th century. Indeed, in one passage of the Commento the figure of Michele Scoto seems to be consistent with a series of characters called larron-enchanteurs, which populated the medieval epic imagery.
