Until today, few efforts have been made to investigate the linguistic identity of the dwellers of the Italian Apuan Alps. This aspect is crucial to reach a better understanding of the local dynamics of dialect change, and the relative persistence of specific features. The current study exploits a perceptual dialectological technique (draw-a-map task) to explore the linguistic identity of 24 inhabitants of the Apuan village of Antona (MS). A recent extension to perceptual inquiries of a dialectometric tool (Gabmap) will prove its usefulness in a novel context of analysis.

Abstract
Until today, few efforts have been made to investigate the linguistic identity of the dwellers of the Italian Apuan Alps. This aspect is crucial to reach a better understanding of the local dynamics of dialect change, and the relative persistence of specific features. The current study exploits a perceptual dialectological technique (draw-a-map task) to explore the linguistic identity of 24 inhabitants of the Apuan village of Antona (MS). A recent extension to perceptual inquiries of a dialectometric tool (Gabmap) will prove its usefulness in a novel context of analysis.File in questo prodotto:
