This essay return to the originality of Alfredo Oriani (1852-1909), writer and political polemist, putting the human body at the center of analysis: The body represented in his literary work, the genius misunderstood, and human attempts with the bicycle. From the beginning of the twentieth century, Oriani was conscious that the “cult of the body” was becoming a new phenomenon. In this way, the marxist ideology of the division of social class was less important. Indeed, for various reasons, the “radical” left and the “clerical” right felt threatened by the emerging cult of physicality.
