This study aims to investigate the translations of Oswald von Wolkenstein’s poem 'Simm, Gredlin, Gret, mein Gredelein' (Kl. 77) in four different languages (Italian, English, German, and French), with a focus on the lexicon related to his marriage and his wife. The various interpretations that emerge from the four case studies may help to better define the distinctive features of this 'Lied', in which Oswald demonstrates having definitively moved beyond the courtly dualism liebe-minne in favor of a new conception of love.

Abstract
This study aims to investigate the translations of Oswald von Wolkenstein’s poem 'Simm, Gredlin, Gret, mein Gredelein' (Kl. 77) in four different languages (Italian, English, German, and French), with a focus on the lexicon related to his marriage and his wife. The various interpretations that emerge from the four case studies may help to better define the distinctive features of this 'Lied', in which Oswald demonstrates having definitively moved beyond the courtly dualism liebe-minne in favor of a new conception of love.File in questo prodotto:
