Within the project “CULTURE 2000” intitled “The significance of Cart - Ruts in ancient landscapes”, aiming to propose a recovery and a following valorisation of these particular archaeological sites, a new cartography (system) has been experimented. The new system had to satisfy two different needs: 1) to represent in general terms the archaeological sites and its complexity due to its various elements having different dimensions and morphological structures; 2) to represent in details some of a. m. different elements. For above reasons, it has been decided to combine different survey techniques and different scales of representation in order to obtain a 3D product as a basis for following studies to be worked out from various experts dealing with the project. The project was concerning two sites one in Malta and one in Spain of different features, so to compare the proposed methodology of representation.
