The aim of this paper is to describe the principal domains of staff satisfaction at hospital level. For this purpose, a questionnaire was developed and distributed to all staff members of the 3 hospitals (n=477) in the Marches Region. By the end of the data collection period, 338 out of 477 staff members had completed the questionnaire, yielding a response rate of 77%. The average rating of job satisfaction was 0.60 out of the possible point 0÷1. The ANOVA reveal significant differences between categories of staff and between hospitals. A priority index was computed for each category off staff in order to discover the strength and the weakness of staff satisfaction.
