The feasibility evaluation of an integrated and sustainable waste management plan in a specific industrial sector should be based on a correct qualitative and quantitative analysis of the waste flows. Particularly, the elaboration of specific waste production coefficients for the indirect estimation of the annual waste streams results very useful, especially during the planning of integrated waste management actions for some peculiar industrial wastes at a given territorial scale. This paper presents and discusses innovative waste production coefficients for the industrial wastes of the renowned boat building sector of Marche Region. Furthermore, a chemical-physical characterization of a glass-fibre waste sample – one of the most representative composite waste typologies of the boat manufacturing – is furnished as fundamental step to the formulation of possible material and energy recovery options.
