The Juno Ludovisi’ extraordinary fame is depending on J.J. Winckelmann’s remark. A first series of plaster casts, which are carried out at the beginning of the second half of XVIII Century, presents the head without curls hanging on the neck. On the other hand, a second series of plaster casts ordered at the beginning of XIX Century by Prince Ludovisi shows the huge head complete with curls. These are a modern restoration, probably made by Vincenzo Malpieri.
