The research project aims at studying the spreading of news based on conspiracy theories on Instagram and analysing the editorial strategies of its editors that are taking advantages of the platform affordances. Despite the Instagram aesthetic inclination, the editorial strategies have not taken advantages of the platform visual affordances, such as photo-capturing, filters, etc., that usually help to spread a post. Conversely, conspiracies news profiles shaped the editorial strategy to exploit the profiles recommendation system and the content indexing by hashtags and keywords and even the lack of an inner post sharing system. In general, this new problematic information popularity is pushing original patterns of news production and consumption.
