This article examines the epigraphs of Iacopo of Cassero and Pietro of Pili, currently preserved in the church of San Domenico in Fano. This analysis allows a thorough understanding of their intrinsic and extrinsic characteristics, and highlights the historical contribution that, through appropriate exegesis, these epigraphs can provide as a material source to define Fano’s society during the Middle Ages.
