Immigration is the subject of an interdisciplinary research project entitled "Immigration, Personal Freedom, and Fundamental Rights." It is noteworthy that the European legislator and the Italian legislator are called to regulate the legal status of foreigners, this being not an easy task, also considering the magnitude and impact of migration flows in recent decades on our legal system. Dr. Lorenzo Bernardini—fellow of the chair of procedural law of the Department of Law of University of Urbino—will talk about the right to liberty accorded to third-country nationals, within the ECHR legal framework (Article 5(1)(f)).
