Abstract

Long term preservation of historical architectural heritage requires the design and implementation of combined action plans that preserve the condition of the assets consistent with the needs of community enjoyment. Today it is necessary to start conservation, enhancement, management and fruition programs in a global and systematic perspective. The paper presents the reserch project of Urbino’s University entitled Integrated digital management model for the conservation and enhancement of the University's historical heritage. The study, fully in line with what has been highlighted by the ICOMOS document on European Quality Principles (2018 update 2020), the Faro Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society (2005) and the Leeuwarden Declaration. Adaptive re-use of the built heritage: preserving and enhancing the values of our built heritage for future generations (2018), addresses as a priority the theme of the search for "quality" in the conservation and enhancement interventions to be carried out on the large historical building heritage owned by the University. The objective of the project is to achieve - through the proposal of a conservation and enhancement plan, sustainable and inclusive, whose strength lies in its immediate operation - the implementation of targeted strategies and supported by the application of new technologies for an activity of prevention, conservation and enhancement of the entire historical architectural heritage of the University.
