According to the Hephaestion’ handbook the astropha are very short compositions lacking strophic responsion: among the possible examples of this structure in the surviving tragic texts Aesch. Choeph. 869-871, Soph. El. 1160-1162, Tr. 1081 and 1085- 1086 are examined.
