Abstract

In this paper we intend to reflect once again on the chalcographic activity of Federico Barocci and, in particular, on the dating of his few, but fundamental prints which greatly contributed to the development of the etching technique. Under this perspective, the figure of Cornelis Cort plays a decisive role as, towards the end of his life, he ventured twice in the highly sensitive translation with the burin of two paintings by the Urbinate.
