Among unpublished lexicographical collections cited by Georg Goetz in De glossariorum Latinorum origine et fatis (= CGL I; Lipsiae-Berolini 1923) without proposing any excerpta, it can be mentioned an alphabetical glossary, beginning with the lemma Arbiter, presumably composed between the 7th and the 8th century and currently preserved in MS Sankt Gallen, Stiftsbibliothek, 908. The aim of this article is to offer a critical edition, with linguistic and philological commentary, of glosses contained in Arbiter that do not have any direct correspondence with voices collected and edited by Goetz in Thesaurus glossarum emendatarum (= CGL VI-VII; Lipsiae 1899-1901). Through a comparison with other series, it can be said that this selection of glosses may well share, for the most part, common lexicographical material with the tradition of Liber glossarum, and, to a lesser extent, with other two collections, Abstrusa and Abolita. Furthermore, Arbiter seems to reveal close similarities with another unpublished glossary, AdfatimB, also transmitted in a single manuscript, Bern, Burgerbibliothek, 224.
