The aim of this article is to identify the lexicographical sources employed during the composition of Arbiter, an alphabetical Latin glossary, presumably compiled between the 7th and the 8th century and currently preserved in MS Sankt Gallen, Stiftsbibliothek, 908. Through a comparison with other series, it is possible to highlight close affinities with two specific glossaries: Abstrusa and Abolita. After some remarks on their tradition, the present contribution offers a detailed list of voices Arbiter quoted from these two collections, and investigates, at the same time, on the main features of the witnesses of Abstrusa and Abolita presumably used by the anonymous compilers of Arbiter.
