The Italian legislator introduced the Public Digital Identity System (SpID). This tool allows citizens and businesses to dialogue with public administrations. The use of SpID also raises questions about data protection in consideration of the information flows, the subjects involved, and the services provided. This paper outlines the interaction of digital-identities mechanism in the EU context. Finally, it addresses the issue of data protection with a focus on the use of SpID by minors.

Abstract
