This review presents the first Italian translation of a relatively obscure Restoration play, Edward Ravenscroft’s The Careless Lovers (1673). The peculiarity of the translation is that it is a collaborative effort by the editors, and the distinctive quality of the book is that the six translators involved (Alba Graziano, Fabio Ciambella, Bianca Del Villano, Iolanda Plescia, Valentina Rossi and Rossana Sebellin) also feature as the authors of six scholarly essays on various aspects of Restoration drama, Ravenscroft’s art, Theatre Translation and Collaborative Translation. Strikingly consistent in its translating style, complete with notes to the bilingual text, this edition amounts to a very good introduction to Restoration farce, and makes the academic reader wish for more publications in the same mould.

Abstract
Strikingly consistent in its translating style, complete with notes to the bilingual text, this edition amounts to a very good introduction to Restoration farce, and makes the academic reader wish for more publications in the same mould.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
