Donald Trump’s policy in the Mena region is investigated through the focus on relations with Arab partners and their regional policies. Trumpian moves and the choices of Arab leaderships are put into historical perspective, in order to reconnect them with the evolution of the region’s more recent history. Methodologically, regional history is taken both as a special vantage point and as a contribution to the broader debate of international politics and the role of other strategic actors. The aim is to grasp rupture or continuity with US policy lines, by detecting the evolutions that arise specifically from Trumpian policy in the area.
