The recovery and reorganization of the Archive of the Convent of S. Francesco in Urbino, conducted between 2010 and 2012, is part of a research project promoted by the University of Urbino, aimed at investigating the impact of the Mendicant Orders, in particular of male and female Franciscanism, in the reality of the city of the Marche region. This Archive is still today in its almost total integrity and con-sistency, and constitutes a precious documentary heritage both for the history of the Urbino convent, a prominent institution in the events of the city of Urbino, and for the birth and development of the University of Urbino, which has always had a fruitful relationship of cultural exchange with the convent of the Minors.
