The relationship between captions and mythological and divine depictions in Etruscan mirrors is a much-debated topic among scholars. In fact, the representation of mythical scenes often deviates from the traditional Greek version, with the introduction of figures that are usually never associated with that specific context or are even completely inconsistent. The proposed solutions are numerous and sometimes even contradictory. This article will examine a few mirrors with representations and captions referring to the goddess Thesan, the Aurora, where the latter does not always correspond to the subject depicted.

Abstract
The relationship between captions and mythological and divine depictions in Etruscan mirrors is a much-debated topic among scholars. In fact, the representation of mythical scenes often deviates from the traditional Greek version, with the introduction of figures that are usually never associated with that specific context or are even completely inconsistent. The proposed solutions are numerous and sometimes even contradictory. This article will examine a few mirrors with representations and captions referring to the goddess Thesan, the Aurora, where the latter does not always correspond to the subject depicted.File in questo prodotto:
