This work examines the issue of employment status of workers operating in enterprises and institutions located in Pesaro and Urbino. It springs from a field study conducted by the Department of Business Studies of the University of Urbino in the period September 2009 - March 2010 on a sample of 600 workers. The research aims to understand the present status of workers and considers the continuous changes that in recent years have affected not only the economic system of our country, but the social system as well. After identifying the profile of the workers surveyed, the study proposes an analysis of their views in relation to key issues in their lives, such as their value systems, their job satisfaction, social integration and relationship with the labor union.
