L’apporto dei recentiores per la constitutio textus dei Menaechmi

The analysis of some critical loci of the Menaechmi – the comedy that undoubtedly enjioyed the widest reception among the recentiores transmitting the twelve comedies – can help us better appreciate the Humanists’ approach to the Plautine text. This paper aims to reconstruct the relationships between the Humanistic manuscripts that have come down to us and highlight the Humanists’ conjectural abilities, which at times led them to anticipate the solutions adopted in modern editions.
