Educating scientifically literate citizens to act epistemically responsibly in relation to complex socio-scientific issues has become an educational emergency in the digital age. This is evidenced by the serious damage to individuals and communities caused by the Covid-19 infodemic, fuelled by fake news and instances of false scientific dissent broadcast by the media. This paper, in which public communication of science is conceived as a form of didactic transposition, has a twofold objective. On the one hand, it aims to clarify the epistemological and pedagogical constraints to which the communication process must be subjected in order to meet the educational needs of 21st century citizens. On the other hand, it aims to provide teachers with some operational guidelines for the processes of selection and didactic reconstruction of scientific disciplines, so that they can educate students capable of taking advantage of non-formal and informal contexts of science communication.

Abstract
On the other hand, it aims to provide teachers with some operational guidelines for the processes of selection and didactic reconstruction of scientific disciplines, so that they can educate students capable of taking advantage of non-formal and informal contexts of science communication.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
